Deb's 20th Class Reunion

We had a good time at deb's class reunion. It was fun to re-connect with some of her classmates who we have not seen in a while. The dinner was in the high school, and then there was a bon fire and party out at the home of one of her classmates. The kids enjoyed an evening with grandma sue and papa.

One last trip to the cabin

After I finished running the Mora Half Marathon, we headed up to Barnes for one last trip to the cabin. The weather was beautiful, but I forgot the fishing poles! Luckily, papa had some extra in the shed so we still were able to do some fishing. On what Deb thought was going to be her last cast for the summer, she snagged a 16 1/4 inch large mouth, thus winning the family 'Largest Fish' contest. Jake is holding it in the picture. We really enjoyed a relaxing time, and the kids had a few tears as we pulled out knowing we won't be back until Mother's Day 2009.

Warm Week-Busy Pool

With warm temperatures this week, our pool got a workout! We enjoyed having some friends over to cool off. Brenda, Hannah, and McKenzie Kloeckl, along with Noah's friend Gabe, were here on Monday. Nancy and her son Brandon were here Tuesday. Lydia had her 'girls' and mom's pool party' on Wednesday, and then the Westerens were here on Friday!
Lydia and Deb had a great time on wednesday, even though it looked like storms were going to put a damper on the day. The rain moved out quickly and the girls and moms were able to spend the rest of the afternoon swimming. Since no boys were allowed, Noah, Jake, and I went bowling and had a lot of fun. We all got at least one strike!

Pine Couty Fair Weekend

The fair always marks the beginning of the end to summer vacation. It came much too soon. Jill, Tom, and the kids came up on Friaday and we spent the day in the pool. We had a lot of fun and finally gave our waterproof camera a try (we were too chicken to submerge it up until this point). The kids had a great time! We finished the evening off by watching the Twins.
I got up early Saturday morning and drove to Richfield to run in the Urban Wildland Half marathon. It was a beautiful morning, and the course was great! This was in the neighborhood that I lived in while going to the U of M. We ran through the neighborhoods and many of the parks and wildlife areas. I definitely will un this one again. I finished in uder 2 hours which was my goal. I then jumped back in the trailblaxer and drove home so that I could catch lunch with everyone before heading out to the fair to go on rides. Noah is starting to enjoy the rides. Jake likes the rides too, but after a few spinning rides, he had enough. Jake and I went to the parade with Mom, Grandpa Henry, Jill, Tom, Jordan, Taylor, and Scott, Shari, and Sami (friends of Jill and Tom). Noah rode on a float with a buddy of his, and Deb and Lydia were in the parade with our church. After the parade we went out for pizza and then everyone came back to our house for some night swimming! Sunday was a day of rest - after Deb and I did Sunday School for the kids at church! Busy weekend, but a great time!
