Happy Birthday Grandma Sue!

Papa and Grandma Sue came up to the cabin on Sunday and we celebrated Sue's birthday on Monday. The weather turned warmer and more sunny after the Biedermans left : (
The kids had a great time fishing - and caught some good size fish. They also enjoyed taking out the canoe without the parents! On Tuesday afternoon, we had to head back to Pine City. We love being at the cabin, but it is also good to get back home.

At the cabin with the Biedermans

We were able to spend the weekend at the cabin with Todd, Donna, Aaron, and Leea. The weather was not great, but we had a good time. We took in the Barnes flea market- ooh the excitement, and then with a little bit of rain in the afternoon, we ventured into Hayward. We had to make a stop at the fudge and candy store. Then an apartment on top of one of the stores caught fire and we watched the fire trucks come and put it out. We were able to get in some fishing and a campfire too!

Take me out to the Ball Game

Tonight baseball came to an end for our team. We had a great season and were on a 5-game winning streak going into the playoffs. We started the night a half game out of first place, but it was not our night. We lost both games. However, Noah did a great job at catcher in the first game - running down a runner heading back to third. He also hit a home run! That was his second one this season! We had a great bunch of guys on our team and look forward to playing again next year.

Jordan and Maria's Wedding

We packed up and made the trip to Detroit Lakes, MN to attend Jordan Amundson's wedding. Deb babysat Jordan and his sisters, and Jordan was also in our wedding almost 13 years ago. Dennis and Sue rode with us on the four hour trip. The wedding was nice, and the kids had a great time at the dance, even thought they complained about haveing to go to the dance in the first place. We all got out on the dance floor and had a great time.

Happy 4th of July!

We ventured up to Deb's parent's cabin north of Hayward Wisconsin to celebrate the 4th of July. This was Yukon's first trip to the lake! We always have a great time up north over the 4th. Barnes, Wisconsin holds a parade and the kids get a TON of candy. There is also a boat parade on Pickerel Lake - this year's theme was the 2008 Olympics. Then we top off the night with an outdoor concert at the Community Church, and a larger fireworks display. We also took our tennis rackets and had some time on the courts. I may get a tennis player out of the three, although they all love baseball. The weather was a little cool so not too much swimming, and the fish did not bite until Sunday night. Then we hit the Jackpot. Lydia caught some of the biggest sunfish we have ever pulled out of the lake. Noah caught some good size bass. And Jake...he had a HUGE fish on his line, and then it snapped. We left Monday morning to head for home and look forward to our trip up there again in two weeks!
