School is Done!

We finished up the school year and Lydia finished Daycare! Wow, no more daycare for the Adams Family! Lydia had her gymnastics program tonight and had quite an audience! We enjoyed watching Lydia on stage and then we all wen for pizza at the Pizza Pub. Lydia really enjoyed gymnastics this year and will continue with some special classes this summer.
My training for the marathon is not going so well. I rolled my ankle on the soccer field and have had to take some time off (I am still limping when I walk!) I hope I can be ready by June 21st!

Misha's Graduation

Today Misha went through the graduation ceremony at Pine City High School. He will need to go to school for a couple more years back in the Ukraine, but he graduated from his experience at PCHS.
The school year is quickly coming to an end. Deb and I are both ready for summer! I think the kids are too. The deck connecting the pool to our exsisting deck has been completed, so we just need some warm weather to heat the water. Although that did not stop Jake and Noah from jumping in on Thursday - water temperature 62 degrees! COLD!

Field Day 2008

This was Jake's first Field Day and he was very excited! He ran the 50 yard dash, 100 yard dash, ran in the relay, and did the softball throw. His relay team took 1st place, and we had the 5th best throw in the softball throw. He was excited to earn two ribbons on the day! Noah's relay team also took 1st place, and Noah placed 4th in the Discus, and 5th in the 100 yard dash. It was a beautiful day, and Lydia and I enjoyed hanging out and watching the boys (mom had to be a timer, so got to see the boys race and congratulate them at the finish line!) Grandma Judy also spent the day with us and we enjoyed our traditional A & W lunch on her porch.
Tonight we practiced for the Blackboard Review. Tomorrow we will give two shows to raise money for scholarships. Again, there are some really talented acts, and.... well, some less talented, but crazy acts. Hope I have my dance moves down for the latter - non talent portion of the show.

Happy Mother's Day at the Cabin

We spent Mother's day at our favorite place - grandma and papa's cabin north of Hayward, WI. We had cabin clean-up day to get things ready for the summer. We hauled many piles of leaves, and raked until our hands and shoulders were sore. Papa grilled some great food for us, and we were able to spend some time with Uncle Gary too! The kids tried their hand at fishing, but no luck. The weather was COLD, and we did not even see a fish. This was the first time we had made the trip to the cabin in May - it was good to see Pickerel Lake after the long winter and cool spring! We hope to make many trips up there once school is out!

Family Birthday Party for Jake and Lydia

Jake and Lydia clebrated their birthdays with all the relatives on Saturday night. Grandma Judy, Tom, Jill, Taylor and Jordan were in Pine City for the weekend. Grandma Sue and Papa, along with Patty, Trent and Brody came from Grantsburg. Then we also had all the extended family - Ruby, Kathy, Casey, Chris, Elly, Carly, Kelly, Dan, Carson, and Andrew. And we cannot forget grandpa Henry! We had a house full of people since the weather did not cooperate and we experienced a downpour while I was manning the grill! Once again, the kids had a great time, and we always enjoy getting the whole extended family together!

Lydia's Birthday Party

Lydia celebrated her 5th birthday with a party at Flyaway North Gynastics (where she takes classes). Even though they forgot about her party and we waited for a half hour for them to open up the gym, the kids still had a great time. They played with the parachute, swung from the bars and rings, played in a large jumpy balloon, and played games with balloons. Afterwards the kids all had "High School Musical" cake. Lydia had a great time with all her friends!
